Online safety expert and digital media veteran Catherine Teitelbaum works with companies to establish innovative safety guidelines and user protections designed to create safer online communities, educational programs, privacy protections and operational oversight.
Teitelbaum served as the Chief Safety Officer at ASKfm, where she led a comprehensive revision of product safety encompassing all aspects of safety-related product design, policy, and operational initiatives for the global Ask.fm user community. Teitelbaum served as the Vice President of Global Trust and Safety at KidZania, where she developed the company’s first international experiential marketing program and a transnational loyalty program for children. Teitelbaum held senior positions within Yahoo, Inc., including an extensive tenure as the company’s Director of Global Safety and Product Policy. For more than 10 years, Teitelbaum oversaw digital safety operations, as well as educational programming and policy initiatives at Yahoo, while also developing innovative digital platforms for children. Teitelbaum co-founded the Employee Foundation—a grassroots, philanthropic organization with global non-profit donations totaling more than $20 million in cash grants.
An established change-agent and pioneer in the realm of digital safety, Teitelbaum has served as a key contributor to several prominent international committees and taskforce. She has also served as the Vice-Chair of the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI) and provided testimony before the Congressional Child Online Protection Act Commission.
