Dr. Jody Sherman LeVos obtained her Ph.D. in Developmental Science from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada with a concentration in children’s mathematical and cognitive development. In 2009, Dr. LeVos joined LeapFrog as a learning designer, where she went on to lead the team of in-house learning experts, overseeing the evolution of the proprietary curriculum and the educational integrity of all LeapFrog products. She also helped inform parents, educators, the Academy of Pediatrics, investors/analysts, and the media about the importance of play and school readiness and ways to navigate screen time. In 2016, Jody joined the Strategic Technology team at Mattel, where she has built a foundational curriculum for Mattel’s products across global markets. She is helping Mattel become the world recognized leader in child development and learning through play, by supporting parents, describing benefits of play, and engaging with the Brand teams. She has published more than 20 empirical papers, book chapters, and scholarly articles. Jody lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two young sons. In her spare time, she enjoys trail running, triathlons, and traveling with her family.
