Shira believes in approaches to media that spark curiosity and passion in kids. To this end, she is currently the Kids Content Strategy Manager at Netflix. Here she oversees title-level positioning for Kids, Teen, and Family titles within the product, as well as partners on A/B tests to make the Kids product more intuitive and delightful. Before Netflix, Shira held leadership roles at Common Sense Media in both their education and consumer groups. As Senior Director of Education Content, she oversaw the strategic direction and overall quality of content on Common Sense’s Graphite. Before that, Shira oversaw the operation of the Common Sense app, website, and game channels. She also managed the research and creation of their K-12 digital literacy and citizenship curriculum and companion online interactive elements. She holds a doctorate degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a bachelor’s in English from the University of Michigan.
